Any sound, played your way

Loaded with 475 handmade presets, Squimpler is also a character sampler: drop in any sound - WAV, AIF, FLAC, OGG, MP3 or M4A - and play it  through a chain of seven lovingly modelled effects. It auto-tunes, auto-loops, auto-levels, and remembers everything inside a single portable preset file. Every module was calibrated against real reference hardware, and the pixel interface is drawn the old way: one pixel at a time.

The Infinite Loop

Click the ∞ glyph and any held key sustains forever. When a sample loads, Squimpler finds its most seamless loop region, automatically tunes it to the nearest note, and bakes a crossfaded seam so the wrap is inaudible. Sometimes if a sample is too short or wacky, you get incredibly interesting artifacts that feel unlike any other sampler. Release the key and the loop keeps cycling under the release fade, like a proper synthesizer - and the original sample is never altered. Draggable envelope handles live right on the green screen, with a mini tuner keeping your drones locked to concert pitch.

Seven lovingly modelled effects

The signal path runs sampler → Flanger/Doubler → Delay → Reverb → Wobble → Saturation → SMASH → CUTOFF → PREAMP. MXR style flange/doubling with the dark repeats and soft clip of real BBD chips, a tape-voiced delay whose trails thin out instead of piling up, a room reverb from cupboard to cathedral, true tape-wow wobble measured from real reference renders, and an asymmetric transistor saturator with a parallel MIX for New-York-style grit.

SMASH is a three-band upward compressor matched to a famous multiband preset - instant glue and loudness. CUTOFF is a genuine transistor-ladder low-pass sweep (24 dB/oct) placed after the effects, so it sweeps delay and reverb tails too; resonance and ladder drive grow as you pull it down. PREAMP is a transformer output stage measured from classic British console hardware - up to +2 dB of dense colour at the top, and the bottom half fades smoothly to silence so it doubles as a performance fade. ALL FX bypasses the six effect modules at once with a click-free crossfade, and every fader and toggle is a host-automatable parameter.

Presets that travel · skins that transform

All 475 samples included are hand recorded and levelled to a consistent loudness with polyphony headroom. When you import samples, Squimpler will do the work for you and perform all of these same functions!  When you save a patch, the audio itself is compressed losslessly, encrypted, and embedded inside the .sqmp file - one file carries the whole sound to any machine. Presets can also carry a skin: full background artwork that transforms Squimpler's look while the controls stay exactly where your hands expect them.
